Nursing Assistant Training Classes for Certification
This school has been licensed in Washington State under Chapter 28C.10 RCW as a licensed vocational school since 1983. Course program and objectives are approved through Washington State Department of Health, and the Washington State Aging and Disabilities Services Administration. Successful completion of this program qualifies you for State/OBRA competency testing. (testing fee additional)
The NAC course includes Healthcare Provider CPR.
Requirements for Successful Completion
1. Attendance of all classes
2. Passing class final with score of 80% or better
3. Provide documentation that you are free of active tuberculosis
4. Successful clinical completion
5. Passing state Competency Test in order to be certified by Washington State.
6. Students must provide documentation of full Covid vaccination.
The student is considered a Certified Nursing Assistant after passing the State Competency Test. There are no transferable credits to another institution.
$1250 includes a $150 registration fee
- $150 Class Deposit/Registration Fee. Registration fee will be returned if student is not accepted.
- $1100 Tuition due on first day of class. (Book provided). Payment can be made by cashier’s check, money order, or debit card. A 3% convenience fee is added for payments made by credit card.
- Please note: your tuition includes textbook and supplies used during skills training (soap, gloves, linens, etc.; name badge provided for clinical)
Additional Costs: Uniform for clinical, gait belt, watch with a second hand, State Competency Test and NAC License Application
Training includes 36 hours of online lecture, 36 hours of skills training at the school, 2 hours for midterm and final exam, and 40 hours of clinical experience in a nursing home. Classes are held three or four times weekly for 4 weeks. Morning sessions are available with classes normally meeting 9:00am-1:00pm, mid-day sessions meet from 1-5pm and evening and weekend sessions are available with classes meeting 6-10pm. There are 5 clinical days (8 hours each, roughly 6am-3pm morning shift and evening shift 2:00-11pm) scheduled in a skilled nursing facility. This is scheduled individually with the student early on in the training and will take place after the classroom training is successfully completed.

Requirements For Class Admission
- Pass reading comprehension test. Reading, writing & communication in English is a requirement.
- Complete “Background Inquiry” online. If there is a record of “disqualifying” crimes against persons (as identified by DSHS Secretary’s List of Crimes and Negative Actions) or financial exploitation, according to state law the individual cannot work in this field.
- Have no back problems that would prevent safe lifting of at least 40 lbs..

Director – Christina Spencer BSN, RN graduated from Seattle University with a degree in Nursing. She has extensive experience in long term care including positions as Director of Nursing and Care Consultant. She has been teaching classes since 1980.
